Signifiant Storm for NorCal & SoCal So So ...

Up to 12 feet of snow is expected in the mountains with this storm. (WeatherBell.com).

A significant storm for NorCal, particularly the mountains (up to 12 feet of snow is expected), is starting Thursday and lasting through the weekend. The precipitation may linger into next week as well. For SoCal, rain will arrive Friday and last only through Saturday with ~0.5-inch of precipitation expected.

Depending on the timing, sampling may be an option Thursday mid-day for some NorCal locations—keep an eye on the runoff. SoCal locations may not have enough precipitation until late Friday for sampling.
